Rain, Rain, and more rain....

Praise the Lord that the basement is still dry. The rain gauge showed 4 inches since late Saturday night. We had several very, very, very hard downpours yesterday.

Had a wonderful time with Andy & Melissa during the 24 hours that they were here. Saturday morning we went to Redding. The Amish have a settlement there. Well, if you call 3 stores in and amongst the rest of the town of Redding. You have to make sure that you have your eyes open when you pass through.

The one grocery store is the store that the Amish themselves shop at. They have everything come in in bulk and then they package the items in small plastic bags. So very interesting. We got some tomato plants and the kids got some plants for their flower beds.

Joel and Amber had Paul and Johanna Avery at their home for the weekend. Paul and Johanna are appointees under BMM to Argentina. Paul was in Joel's wedding. The services were a blessing. It's neat to see kids that with whom you have had contact earlier in their lives and see them blossom into young adults that are capable of ministering the Word of God.

Thot-
When we are sleeping, God isn't. He is working out His plan in our lives; for our good and His glory.

Another day of sorting

Another day of sorting over across the back yard. Have another huge pile of trash. Am tired. Brought several boxes home so that when Andy and Melissa come this weekend, they will be able to go through some things. Hope to go to the Amish settlement down near the Missouri border on Saturday. There are 3 stores that are interesting. One wood shop where everything is wonderful, but they don't fit my pocketbook. One is their grocery store where all is in bulk or has been hand bagged. The third one is a grocery store with damaged merchandise. Just interesting to go through and look. All these places have sky lights as there are no light fixtures. They use battery operated calculators to add up the groceries. Hmmm.......
Tomorrow will be another sorting day in the afternoon. Trying to get a bunch done before Joel and Amber have company this weekend.

Sales Tax

Sales Tax is done for another quarter. Just "hafta" pay the governor, you know. I had terrible time getting things figured out with the Letter service and the flower shop. Each had different things to figure, but had to go in as one payment. Arrrgh! At the end of last quarter I through out my worksheet/spreadsheet and started over. This time the figures seemed to go in just great without out a lot of hair pulling or turning gray. Thanking the Lord for that.

Headed down to straighten up the flower shop at the end of Stanza #15 "Singing in the Rain." Then maybe I can take some steps forward to get things really cleaned up more permanently, now that I know that water "shouldn't" appear.

Hazy day today here in Iowa. Says it 63 out there, but just doesn't seem that warm.

Wednesday

Well, the sun is shining and it is supposed to be warm out. I'll have to check later. Wesley and I emptied the dish washer and then emptied the refrigerator, wiped it out, and put the stuff back in. He is a good helper. He loves to type on the computers. I have a "dummy" keyboard that on which he pretends to type. Right now he is laying on it typing with his tongue. The other day he pressed some keys and I couldn't get my desktop icons to move. This was something that even his Daddy couldn't help me with. I finally Googled it and found where I could change a stetting. He reminds me of Joel. Just has to know how things work and how they are put together.

God puts that into that little brain that grows and those instincts grow with them.

Got the downspouts jerry-rigged so that the rain shouldn't (notice I say SHOULDN'T) come in the basement.

Getting to be lunch time.

God is the God of impossibles

Amanda is doing well. Still in ICU, bleeding stopped by God. Had surgery yesterday for the compound fracture. Lynne is having radiation treatments and is struggling this week. Mandy is having a C-section right now and they doctors may have to do surgery on the baby to repair a bowel obstruction. We are praying. Dean is facing surgery to amputate a toe next week. We have another of our number that will have bowel surgery next week. Pastor's family is trying to get sole custody of of their grand kids. Another gal is trying to gain custody of her son. God is working in our church, and our church will be without a pastor come August 1.

With God, all things are possible. We need to have faith even as small as a mustard seed and we can say to the mountain, "Move from here to there" and it will move-- Matthew 17:20-1.

If we the God's people, especially here in Creston, can't recognize this fact, then we need to pray that God will open our eyes to see Truth.

Today, Monday April 6

Started off with startling news of a young mom from our church tangling with a semi on Highway 34 south of town. We are praying for Amanda that the Lord would see fit to spare her life. She was lift flighted to Omaha hospitals.

Just got a call from Pastor Dan in Omaha, Amanda has multiple internal injuries and is in grave condition.

Wesley has a tummy upset, so Grandmum doesn't have the little "joy bubble" today.

I am trying to see the bottom of my kitchen table. I'm like a butterfly, I take care of one thing, put it in it's place, and come upon another that needs caring for. Grrr. Ugh! I can be organized in some areas, but the counter tops, kitchen table, and my desk are not in that bucket, YET!

Saturday and Sunday were cold and damP! Snow and blowing. Friday night when we went to bed, the house shook from the force of the wind. It was 50 some degrees, just right for a tornado, but PTL! there were none. Saturday morning it was down to the 20s.

Well must get busy on some more flowers, and have 3 missionary prayer letters in the works to get done.
